This movie is a visual feast. It’s Fritz Lang, but not how you are used to knowing him. It’s not the German Expressionism of Metropolis or the noir of The Big Heat. No, to find a parallel with this film you have to go back to Spiders in 1919 and 1920. That’s the big Indiana Jones style action adventure film Lang made early in his career.

This film is a return to that kind of film, even splitting the film into two, complete with exotic setting and an Indiana Jones man. However, what’s special about this film is it’s visuals. The composition and use of color is dazzling. I suggest that anybody see this.

I can’t comment too much on the story because I haven’t watched the sequel which is crucial because this film literally cuts off like the cliffhanger in TV show.
