This film is not for everyone. For me, it reminded me of Michael Snow’s La Region Centrale (1971). You think that it will be tremendously boring, but once you give it a chance and really start watching, the film starts to wash over you and you can’t stop. The film is composed of shots from New York City over which we hear letters from director Chantal Akerman’s mother read.

This film is really not for everyone, but I enjoyed it and have to recommend it.
