It begins when a car wrecks and dumps those pamphlets pictured above. It’s 1940 and there is a group in the United States wanting to support a regime overseas. Which regime? They don’t say. They do mention camps so I figure it’s probably the Nazis.
Enter detective Nick Carter played by Walter Pidgeon and Bartholomew played by Donald Meek. They are a crime solving team that take on the task of hunting down this seditious and evil group. To do this they move from one scene to another with several women including a pretty unfunny Lucille Ball prototype.
This is the kind of movie that they largely stopped making once television came along because it’s really an episode of a crime show. Not necessarily a bad thing inherently, it just happens to a lousy episode of a crime show. It won’t kill you, but approach it with caution.
