This is not a very good movie. The film can be summed up as: an annoying kid who refuses to grow up, face reality, and treat the people around him with respect runs away to a imaginary place where he gets a dose of his own medicine and is shown the kind of relationship he should have with his mother. People are going to tell you to look at the unique creatures, world, and the adult, not dumbed down, way in which coming of age is handled. Don’t be fooled, it’s window dressing that looks good in the previews, but doesn’t hold up when you actually see the film. It isn’t a complete failure, but keep your hopes down.
